This monthly sewing meet up is appropriate for experienced and newer sewists making apparel. If you have the desire to grow your maker skills or feel more confident with expert guidance, this Sewing Make A Long is for you!  This MAL is designed to be driven by the members. Every sewist  who knows how to work a sewing machine, has taken any of the “You Can Sew Clothes classes, both Beginner or Follow up, or taken any individual garment making classes or Serging 101 offered by Sarah, and those who have been using and following commercial or Indy patterns to make clothing for themselves or others as also welcome to Sew A-Long with us.

This is an opportunity to meet others, share ideas, develop more advanced sewing skills, and to find your sew-nerdy people! This MAL will respond to the members’ needs and wants, with specific lessons taught based upon requests.

Grab your machine or pre-register to use one of ours and join us once a month to share what you've learned and to get help right where you’re at! From patterns and fabric selection for the look you want, making minor fitting adjustments, laying out, cutting, or in following the sewing process. Join us to Sew A-Long all year!

This MAL is not for the brand new apparel maker.  You must know how to use your machine and have constructed at least 2-3 projects and 1-3 garments to get the most out of this sew- a- long. Brand new beginners should start with Get to Know Your Sewing Machine, 2-3 introductory sewing classes and then one or two YOU Can Sew Clothes before joining the ASAL group.

ASAL meets 9 times during the year, Wednesday evening from 6-8pm. Each participant will receive a $100 Spending allowance for class purchases of fabric or pattern.

Class supplies must be purchased from Silk Road Textiles, either in store or through the SRT Online Marketplace. By using our high quality products, you know that you have the right tools and fibers to set you up for success, and we can keep our class prices down.
