Know how to sew clothing from a pattern but want to learn to make it fit your body better? In Flat Pattern Design, students will learn to adapt a sewing pattern for a flattering fit. Students will start with the basics of taking measurements and progress to making a sloper dress based on those measurements. A sloper is a powerful fitting tool that allows you to adjust any pattern to fit you well. Terry Owen has decades of garment making, altering, and designing experience, so she brings a wealth of knowledge to the classroom.
Flat Pattern Design is for the female student with significant apparel sewing experience. If you are newer to sewing clothes or need a refresher, try our You CAN Sew Clothes or pattern specific classes.
IMPORTANT: Your first class will focus on measuring your body. Wear the same undergarments that you wear on any normal day, as well as somewhat close-fitting clothing for more accurate measurements.
Class supplies must be purchased from Silk Road Textiles, either in store or through the SRT Online Marketplace. By using our high quality products, you know that you have the right tools and fibers to set you up for success, and we are able to keep our class prices down.
