Scandinavian Tomte (Swedish) are solitary, mischievous domestic spirits, responsible for the protection and welfare of a farmstead and its buildings. Make your own Tomte Gnome Quilt to look over home and hearth this winter. Students will practice traditional quilt piecing skills, starting with the simpler tree blocks and progressing to the more challenging Tomte block. During the class we will cut fabric with a rotary cutter and ruler and piece the top of the quilt. All students must be comfortable using a sewing machine.
