If you have never taken a sewing class at Silk Road Textiles, this class is REQUIRED before taking any other kids' or teens' sewing classes. In this introductory session, you will learn to use and care for a sewing machine, including how to properly thread the needle, wind a bobbin, sew a straight line, and select stitch patterns, as well as other good sewing habits. First, we will all make pincushions that can be used throughout other sewing classes. Then, we will make the reversible messenger bag project found in A Kid's Guide To Sewing by Sophie Kerr.
You are welcome to bring your machine from home or use one of ours - just let us know when you register which you'd prefer. All class supplies must be purchased at Silk Road Textiles. By using our high quality products, you know that you have the right tools and fibers to set you up for success, and we are able to keep our class prices down.
