Add to your embroidery skills and create a garden of flowers, stems and leaves. You will learn to embroider with a variety of threads and flosses, and learn new stitches and techniques to bring your garden to life. Students must be comfortable with basic embroidery stitches like back stitch, stem stitch, French knots, and lazy daisies.
Class supplies must be purchased from Silk Road Textiles, either in store or through the SRT Online Marketplace. By using our high quality products, you know that you have the right tools and fibers to set you up for success, and we are able to keep our class prices down.
Supplies needed:
Foolproof Flower Embroidery book
Fat quarter of cotton or linen fabric
1/2 yard fusible fleece
8" embroidery hoop for framing
Chenille needles
A variety of colors of embroidery thread (at least 3, but the more colors, the merrier!). Choose among Fyberspates Threads, Valdani or Finca Pearl Cotton size 8, Aurifil/Mako 12 wt. thread, metallic floss, and Garden Party floss
In addition to the colors, choose 2 greens (from Fyberspates, Valdani Wool Thread, or Valdani or Finca Pearl Cotton size 8) and 1 white (from Valdani or Finca Pearl Cotton size 8 or Sashiko thread)
4mm silk ribbon in yellow, turquoise, and green
