Amigurumi is the Japanese art of knitting or crocheting (mostly crocheting!) stuffed yarn toys. While making a stuffed pumpkin, we will explore the basics of amigurumi - crocheting in the round, increasing and decreasing - to make a three dimensional object. Finally, we'll add a crocheted stem and leafy vine. If you are comfortable with single crochet and chaining, you are ready to create amigurumi!
Be sure to purchase your fabric and other supplies from Silk Road Textiles, online or in store!
1 skein worsted weight yarn for pumpkin - orange is traditional, but anything goes! Try Blue Sky Fibers Woolstok, Berocco Vintage, or Cestari Mt. Vernon.
A small amount of green and either brown or grey for the vine and stem (Woolstok minis are perfect for this!)
Size F crochet hook
Locking stitch markers
