Tammie will share her tips and tricks for installing a lining so the garment hangs properly and remains unseen, as it should. This series is appropriate for beginner garment makers who have attempted garment sewing in the past and want to perfect their skills or any garment sewers who want to expand and perfect their skills.

Beginner Mini Quilt Cost $45 + supplies with Gay Volz Skill Level: Beginner Sat. 2/15 AND 2/29 1-3PM Designed for new quilters, this class will teach the basics of constructing a quilt. Students will learn basic piecing skills, measuring and cutting with a rotary cutter, use of batting and applying binding. Students must be comfortable using a sewing machine.

Claremont Cabled Hat Cost $40 + supplies with Jon Marie Hautz Skill Level: Beginner Sat. 2/22, 2/29, AND 3/7 1:30-3PM Use your favorite Woolstok color and learn to blend cables and stockinette to knit the warm and stylish Claremont Cabled Hat. In this class students will learn and practice a number of skills--knitting with circular and double point needles, creating a jog-free join of the cast-on stitches, using a cable needle to create small and large cables, reading instructions from a chart, shaping using strategically placed decreases, transitioning from a circular needle to double-pointed needles, and tying off stitches at the end of a project. Participants must be comfortable with casting on, knitting, and purling. Prior to class, participants must knit a gauge swatch of 25 stitches and 18 rows (not counting cast-on row or bind-off row) in stockinette stitch (knit one row, purl one row) using size 7 needles. Once completed, swatch should be rinsed in cool water and laid flat to dry. This swatch needs to be brought to the first class.
