Claremont Cabled Hat Cost $40 + supplies with Jon Marie Hautz Skill Level: Beginner Sat. 2/22, 2/29, AND 3/7 1:30-3PM Use your favorite Woolstok color and learn to blend cables and stockinette to knit the warm and stylish Claremont Cabled Hat. In this class students will learn and practice a number of skills--knitting with circular and double point needles, creating a jog-free join of the cast-on stitches, using a cable needle to create small and large cables, reading instructions from a chart, shaping using strategically placed decreases, transitioning from a circular needle to double-pointed needles, and tying off stitches at the end of a project. Participants must be comfortable with casting on, knitting, and purling. Prior to class, participants must knit a gauge swatch of 25 stitches and 18 rows (not counting cast-on row or bind-off row) in stockinette stitch (knit one row, purl one row) using size 7 needles. Once completed, swatch should be rinsed in cool water and laid flat to dry. This swatch needs to be brought to the first class.
