If you have always wanted to try stranded colorwork, this class is for you! Experienced beginners who are comfortable knitting a basic beanie in the round and ready to take their skills to the next level will enjoy knitting this cute hat.
Skills covered/utilized: Knitting in the round, beginning stranded colorwork techniques including knitting with two colors in the same round at the same time (one color in each hand!), finishing techniques to avoid long floats and weave in those pesky yarn ends to make your stranded colorwork neat and tidy inside and out, plus the Old Norwegian/Twisted German cast on and twisted rib.
Be sure to pick up supplies prior to class!
Crystal Grid pattern (pattern cost included in class price)
One 50g skein Woolstok worsted (cost of yarn included in class price)
Seven mini skeins Woolstok worsted (cost of yarn included in class price)
16” (40 cm) US 6 (4 mm) needle for the ribbing
16” (40 cm) US 8 (5 mm) needle and dpn for plain stockinette
16” (40 cm) US 9 (5.5 mm) needle for the stranded colorwork
or size needles needed to get gauge. Gauge in stockinette and stranded colorwork is 18 stitches and 24 rows to 4 inches.
