Tue., Wed., & Thu., 6/6. 6/7, & 6/8, 1-3pm
This class is limited to teens, ages 13+

In this 3 day workshop we will learn hand sewing techniques to repair, enhance, and add personality to clothing.  Not only are these skills fun to master, they are key to keeping your wardrobe environmentally conscious.

Each day we will explore a different way to alter our wearables. Day one we will develop our skills in mending, both visible and hidden. Day two we will explore altering clothing with simple stitching and using patches to add flare. Day three is all about embroidery - adding decorative designs to anything we can push a needle through. So raid those thrift shops, dig deep into that closet, and get ready to rehab your wardrobe!

Class supplies must be purchased from Silk Road Textiles, either in store or through the SRT Online Marketplace. By using our high quality products, you know that you have the right tools and fibers to set you up for success, and we are able to keep our class prices down.

Supplies needed:
A variety of colors of cotton embroidery thread (at least 3, but the more colors, the merrier!). Start with Valdani or Finca Pearl Cotton size 8 and Aurifil/Mako 12 wt. thread.
Bring some clothes that need mending or enhancing. We'll supply some practice pieces to get you started.
