Been busy sewing masks and ready to broaden your skills? Learn to quilt from start to finish in this 5-week class. We will cover cutting fabric efficiently with a rotary cutter and piecing it together with a quarter inch seam allowance, assembling, quilting, and binding the completed quilt top. The final quilt will measure 36" x 48". Students must be comfortable using a sewing machine.
Be sure to purchase your fabric and other supplies from Silk Road Textiles, online or in store!
Supplies (items with an asterisk (*) are needed for the first session):
First-Time Quilt-Making book*
3/4 yard print focus fabric*
1/3 yard each of three coordinating fabrics*
1-1/2 yard backing fabric
1/3 yard binding fabric
1-1/4 yard 62" wide cotton batting
Coordinating or neutral Presencia thread for piecing*
Thread for quilting
Rotary cutter, mat, and ruler (if you don't have these supplies, you can use ours)*
Sewing machine and basic sewing supplies (scissors, snips, pins, etc.)*
A sewing machine from SRT can be reserved at registration for no extra cost.
Classes are scheduled to be in-person, pending health regulations.
