We've combined two of our most popular classes together to ensure our beginning sewers are off to a strong start. On the first day, you'll start by learning all about your sewing machine, and on the second day, you'll practice what you've learned while making a pillowcase! This is a great first project for the beginner or those wishing to brush up on their sewing machine skills. It's both functional and makes a fun gift. Using two different cuts totaling one yard of fabric, students will create a banded bed pillow case using basic sewing skills. You will also learn valuable fabric cutting and pattern following skills along the way.
So, bring your machine, accessories, attachments, and manual, and learn how to operate your own sewing machine with confidence. Threading, bobbin winding, stitching, special features, and simple maintenance will be covered in this very personalized class. All makes and models welcome. Please let the instructor know at registration what type of machine you will be using. If you would like to learn to sew but do not have your own machine, you may take this class using one of our store machines – simply reserve a machine when you register.
Fabric and thread included in class price.
Bring your sewing machine with all of its parts and the machine's manual to class. (Be sure to remember the foot pedal and power cord!)
Classes are scheduled to be in-person, pending health regulations. Masks and proof of vaccination are required.
