Diagnostic Serger-y Cost: $100 + supplies with Betty Mitchell Skill Level: Intermediate Notes: Must bring a serger Sat. 1/26  9AM-4PM Does your serger give you 'fits'? Has it become an expensive 'door stop'? It's time to take a class and learn just what these fabulous machines can do! Betty Mitchell has been teaching sergers for over 30 years and she will be here at Silk Road Textiles to help you overcome all of your serger troubles. Arrive with your machine, and all of its parts and pieces (don't forget your manual and power cords!), four different colors of serger thread and leave with new confidence and a notebook full of sample techniques!

Flat Knit Hat Cost: $45 +supplies with Emma Coates Skill Level: Beginner Sat. 1/12, 1/19, and 1/26  10:30AM-12:30PM Learn the fundamentals of knitting. No experience required. Learn to cast on, knit, purl, bind off, and basic blocking. The third session you will meet with the instructor to select and start a first project!

Socks Both Ways Cost: $45 + supplies with Colleen Grogan Skill Level: Experienced Beginner Sat. 1/12, 1/16, 1/26, and 2/9, 2-4PM Learn how to write your own pattern for socks that fit! In this class, students will knit one sock from the toe up and the other from the cuff down, in order to master the skills needed for almost any sock pattern. Using the Magic Loop technique for both socks, students will leave this class with the confidence to turn any skein of yarn into socks they'll love to wear!
